durostat® can be welded without problems. Due to the relatively low carbon content pre-heating is not necessary for small thicknesses
As a result of their high hardness, durostat® steels have a wear resistance many times higher than that of conventional steels.
Due to the high hardness compared to conventional steels, the thickness of durostat® plates can be reduced significantly. This leads to lower dead-weights and thus higher payloads.
durostat® up to 30mm are produced online by accelerated cooling directly after hot rolling. Thus, a thin homogeneous secondary scale is built, which is easy to remove compared to furnace scale from conventional hardening.

durostat® grades are wear-resistant steels with excellent processing properties; lasting more than twice as long as normal steel plate “for 		  a longer life” minimising overall costs by reduced downtime.
durostat® steels are specifically intended for components exposed to high mechanical stress and heavy abrasion e.g. loading devices, shovels, buckets, dumptrucks, tipper bodies, conveyors, excavator components, road machines, screens and crushers, bulldozers, screw conveyors and many other applications.
